Indefinite curfew reimposed in
two Manipur districts

Indefinite curfew was reimposed in Imphal West and East districts after relaxation of four hours from 0500 hours on Wednesday, official sources said.

Security forces intensified patrolling as widespread anti-ceasefire agitation was reported from different parts of the state, the sources added.

Reports said hundreds of people defied prohibitory orders and continued sit-in protests in several parts of the Manipur Valley, including Ningthoukhong, Khundrakpam, Irengbam and Yairipok.

The sources said the police and paramilitary forces asked people to remain indoors.

However, curfew was relaxed for 13 hours from 0500 hours in Thoubal district, sources added.
