Manipur curfew relaxed for two hours, reimposed

An indefinite curfew was reimposed in three districts of Manipur after it was relaxed for two hours on Thursday from 7.00 am to 9.00 am.

People came out in large numbers to buy essential commodities.

The decision to relax curfew was taken after the authorities reviewed the law and order situation on Wednesday, official sources said.

Curfew was imposed in Imphal West, Imphal East and Thoubal districts on Monday following large-scale violence in which 13 people were killed and the state assembly and chief minister's secretariat were torched.
