Third witness identifies Gulshan killer

A key prosecution witness on Thursday identified one of the alleged killers of music baron Gulshan Kumar before a sessions court.

Twenty-five-year-old Rajesh Ramchandra Johari said he heard gunshots from his house in Bharat Nagar area of suburban Juhu and came out to see what had happened.

"I saw two persons running away in the same direction. They were holding pistols. One of them was ten feet away from me and pointed his pistol at me. I saw him clearly, but was not able to see the other person," he said.

When the judge asked him to identify the person from the 11 accused sitting in the dock, Johari pointed at Abdul Rauf Daud Merchant.

Johari also told the court that with the help of another neighbour, Ramachandra Lavangare, he lifted Gulshan Kumar and his driver Rooplal, put them in their car and drove to the nearby Cooper Hospital.
