There is considerable confusion and anger among the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (I-M) cadres based in Nagaland over the decision of the Centre to revoke the ceasefire beyond the territorial limits of Nagaland.
The official spokesperson of NSCN (I-M) has declined to issue any statement unless a directive comes two of its top leaders, Issac Chisiswu and Muviah from Amsterdam.
Asked whether some leaders have issued statements threatening to go back to warpath, the spokesperson, who refused to identify himself, said it could be an individual reaction.
"But as an organisation we have a full faith in our top leaders who must have taken everything into consideration before giving the go ahead to the Centre," he said.
It was reported from Kohima that a message has been delivered from the two leaders, which was read out to the cadres explaining a situation under which the review of the ceasefire was undertaken.
The cadres are reportedly restless and angry over Friday's decision but have apparently decided to wait for a clear directive from the two supreme leaders.
The confusion arose when former chief of the armed wing of NSCN (I-M), V S Atem, said on Saturday afternoon that NSCN (I-M) cadres will go underground once again.
