High-level home ministry team for Manipur

A high level home ministry team led by Minister of State for Home Affairs I D Swami flew to Manipur on Thursday to discuss the issues arising out the Naga truce extension between the Centre and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (I-M) with various organisations.

The team will submit a report to Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani by Saturday, an official release said.

The decision to send the team was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Advani to review the issues arising out of the ceasefire extension with the NSCN (I-M).

Senior officials of the ministry, including Home Secretary Kamal Pande and Government of India's representative for the Naga peace talks Padmanabhaiah, attended the meeting.
