Sonia allowed to have holy dip at Kumbh Mela

Our Correspondent at Kumbh Nagari (Allahabad)

The Kumbh Mela administration on Monday relented and gave permission to Congress president Sonia Gandhi to have a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.

Earlier, the administration, fearing a security risk, had advised her against visiting the Mela.

But after discussions with the state government, and taking into consideration the fact that no major snan (bath) is slated for Monday, it was decided to let her go ahead with the holy dip.
