Prem Panicker in Kumbh Nagar

A fire at 2030 on Tuesday evening at the Mayor's camp, Kumbh Nagar, completely gutted two tents.

Initially, people from the neighbouring camp attempted to douse it with buckets of water. One man was injured and rushed to the Mela Hospital.

The fire took its toll on the beds in the tents, official registers and government files. The damage estimated to property was estimated at Rs 85,000.

In an unrelated incident, two tents belonging to the Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhara were also burnt down. The cause is not known.

No one was injured, though the loss to the property was estimated between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000.
