Transfer of fodder scam cases
to Jharkhand reserved

A full bench of the Patna High Court on Tuesday reserved its ruling regarding transfer of the multi-crore fodder scam cases to the Jharkhand High Court after hearing both the Central Bureau of Investigation and the defendants.

The full bench comprising Justice Nagendra Roy, Justice Aftab Alam and Justice Shiv Kirti Singh, after hearing the counsels for the CBI and the prime accused in the fodder scam Laloo Prasad Yadav, reserved its ruling but did not specify the date on which it would delivered.

While the CBI counsel Rakesh Kumar pleaded that 35 cases related to fodder scam should be transferred to the Jharkhand High Court since in majority of the cases the place of occurrence were in Jharkhand region.

On the other hand, senior advocates like Rana Pratap Singh and P N Pandey appearing on behalf of the defendants pleaded that cases could not be transferred to Jharkhand as the cases did not fall within the jurisdiction of the Jharkhand region exclusively.
