ED questions Sanjay Dutt

The Enforcement Directorate has questioned film star Sanjay Dutt about alleged hawala deals in connection with the probe into the underworld-Bollywood nexus.

ED sources said Dutt was summoned on Thursday to probe money transactions in the case relating to film financier Bharat Shah who is facing the charge of alleged links with Karachi-based gangster Chhota Shakeel for personal gains.

Shah has been arrested under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.

This is for the first time that an actor has been questioned by the ED in the case involving underworld-Bollywood nexus.

Dutt is also an accused in the 1993 serial blast case. He is being tried by a TADA court in Bombay, which has released him on bail.
