The advocates are protesting against the proposed amendment to the Consumer Protection Act, which prohibits them from appearing in consumer courts.
When the cases came up before Justice R Balasubramaniam, Jayalalithaa's counsel requested that the appeals be posted for hearing on Tuesday in view of absence of prosecution counsel K V Venkatapathy.
The judge said the registry would decide when the appeals were to be posted.
Jayalalithaa needs to be acquitted in the Tansi case before she can contest (and win) a by-election to continue in office beyond the November 13 deadline.
