Views:Hi! While it pains me to see BSF men unnecessarily killed, I find it hard to believe that BSF didn't do anything and BDR easily killed our men. The BSF people are trained personnel and aren't cowards or satyagrahis to just take punishment. So while the BSF men were being attacked, what was the rest of the force doing? There is more to it... I think. Regarding Bangladesh being a friendly nation: Only Indians think like that. None of the Bangladeshis do. In fact most Bangladeshis (like SriLankan Sinhalese) hate India. They believe that India didn't do anything to help in their Independence and that India merely took credit!

Views:The incident boils the blood of every Indian who has blood flowing n them( Of course politicians are excluded who have only poision running in their veins) It looks like that Bangladesh army and the local people in the border are involved here. The great nationalistic BJP government does'nt want to take any action because they want to win the election there. The government is only good enough to fix national awards and make sure that their partymen win all the awards. That is their way of showing Nationalism. Funny thing is all those political parties are not making much noise about this incident. Every one knows about Congress and JD. Shivsena, VHP and Bajrang Dal are good only in igniting communal violence within the country. Normally, they would start moaning even for the slightest of things. It is just because none of those died BSF personnel were Advani's, vajpayee's closest ones. India should make a mandatory rule that at least one of the sons or daughters of member of Parliament should serve in the security force guarding the Indian borders. Then these politicians will know the value of lives.

Views:India as a nation shouldn't stand up for this type of provocation. i agree that the country simply can't just nuke them or start a full blown war, but the least they could have done was move a couple of thousand troops into the North East, get Indian Land back and if need be, inflict unacceptable and irrepairable damage on Bangladeshi borders. Indian should have at least captured some land in lieu of more concessions by Bangladesh. If India is ever to become a great power, it has to learn that wars come with the turf. Look at the US. It DOMINATES the Western Hemisphere, Europe, the Middle East AND the Western Pacific not to mention stationing an entire fleet at both Japan and Bahrain. NO country, and i mean NO country would ever do such an attack on the US, not Russia, and, despite what many people think, nor would China. These countries, which arguably dominate their repsective regions, aren't even in the same league as European countires on defensive and offensive capabilites, let alone on par with the US. The US deters countires not only by it's overwhemlingly firepower and brute force, but due to it's economic prowess. what India should do is not only build up the military like George Bush intends to do, but open up the economy. Once the Indian economy becomes so big that ALL, perhaps with the exception of Pakistan, will become dependant upon the Indian market. With such domiance, India will be in a stronger position to counter any such misadventures. Increased military spending is not just the only option. Increased openess will increase India's strength. The US leads the world in both these areas, and if India is hell bent on becoming an ally of America, perhaps it should replicate some American ideas!! In the mean time, India will be, at best, a regional power.

Views:I am from Pakistan. I just checked the photo of an Indian soldier's deadbody being carried by some bangladeshi villagers (devils) . FOA, let me say onething that i have got no love for India. Like all Pakistanis, i also hate India from the core of my heart. No more explanations to make. But having seen that picture, i really feel disgusted. It is a gory cold blooded murder. For God sake, now dont blame Pakistan for this crisis. We dont give a damn to Bangladesh and i am a hundred percent sure that we dont have any influence on them either. Our relations with them have already touched a low in the last one year. Most of the Indians have been made to believe that some of their soldiers were tortured to death by Pakistani soldiers in Kargil too. That was a disgusting piece of information. That was a masterpiece of Indian propaganda machine. Why would dwe have done such a thing when it was more important for us to have those soldiers as POWs. I know i might not sound very convincing to many Indians, who have been misled so much against Pakistan, but guys believe me Pakistani army would never go down to such a level. Coming back to the lynching of Indian soldiers, i would like to express my deepest regrets. If Pakistan had been in your boots today, i am telling you we would have taught Bangladesh a lessen even their grandchildren would have remembered. But it is a sad reflection of the state of affairs of India that you Indians as well as your army lacks muscle. For you it is more important to be able to use Bangladesh as a Pakistani basher on foreign forums than to tell them what their worth actually is. Believe me, if India becomes a bit more practical on kashmir, India might lose a piece of land and some face in front of the world but India will find a great friend and trustable in Pakistan. And then you might not be humiliated again and again by these childy bangladeshis who your politicians dont want to annoy just for the sake of being able to use them against Pakistan. Views:This is the limit. I saw the picture of dead indian soldier tied to the bamboo stick.I have never seen anything so ghastly in my life. We have to teach Bangladeshi's a lesson.How dare they do this to our soldiers.And if the BDR (Bangladeshi's army) did this without their governments permisssion then I say Major-General Fazlur Rahman should be punished. The best thing would be to hand him over to us and we will teach him a lesson so that no one will ever dare backstab India again.I salute those Indian soldiers killed.
