Views:I think India must take a stance, which should be exemplary to Bangladesh that they cannot get away after killing Indians. Good relation with a country can never be accepted at the cost of our countrymen. The way Govt. of India has been handling the matter is very disappointing and utterly disgusting. If this is the policy of Govt. of India then that day is not very far when Bhutan will attack and lynch Indian security men. In fact this is an excellent case of failure and corruption in our entire defense department and the bureaucratic establishment. Where senior offices and bureaucrats are busy in making profitable defense deal to earn to fill up their own pockets with tax payers money. To end as they (senior offices and bureaucrats) say security men have died to protect their motherland.

Views:Some time back, when some Indians protested the hosting of the Miss World pageant on Indian soil, the rest of the world inquired with sincere ignorance: "Why is India, 'the land of the Kama Sutra', being so fussy about a harmless beauty pageant?". In the same way, Indians have been conditioned to be docile and passive, lest the world also ask "Why is India, 'the land of the great soul Mahatma Gandhi, Satyagraha and Ahimsa', being so fussy about a little border incursion?" The fools !! Don't they realize that Ahimsa worked in our favor back then only because the British needed our cooperation to enslave us? Don't they see the other political and social factors that also helped win us our independence? DO THEY NOT SEE THAT OUR ENEMIES TODAY ARE LESS INTERESTED IN ENSLAVING US, AND WOULD RATHER EXTERMINATE US? AHIMSA INDEED!!! It is time to bubblewrap our chakras and fold our khadis. Bring out the big guns, I say. Send in the Viraat carrier battlegroup to blockade their ports. Send in the MiG's and Su's to set the border ablaze; the other side of it, that is. Send in the Army, Cavalry and the Mi choppers to reduce their outposts to matchsticks and dust. Let them watch helplessly while Foxbats scream across their skies. Don't forget to lob in a Prithvi or two. For the emancipated slave has turned against its liberator, and needs to be humbled. No more tricolor-swathed coffins for us. Denial and apology cannot begin to compensate for fifteen mutilated corpses. There is nobility in educated restraint, but there is also nobility in timely and just retribution. If this is how we handle our neighbors, we do not deserve a permanent seat in the UN Security Council. If we want to be a superpower, we should start practicing NOW.

Views:Congratulations to Nuclear Superpower India for taking such blatent treatment at the hands of a country like Bangladesh!! Where is your spinal cord Mr. Prime Minister/Mr. Defence Minister/ and Mr. Home Minister. Our esteemed Defence Minister, just after taking office bellowed in the manner addresses union meetings, against China, just after taking office. Our home minister did the same, and of course the Prime Minister authorised the Nuclear Tests to show the world how strong India is, forcing economic sanctions against the country, and putting the country poor population further in hardships. Where are the bombastic statements now? The ruling elite seems to have lost its voice time and again when faced with the country's defence crisis, whether in Kargil, or in Bangladesh or in Afghanistan(and Nepal, where the plot was hatched to hijack the Indian Airlines plane). It gives the impression that the present political mishmash is good at rallies only...where they can bellow their old worn out throats at imaginary enemies, but when faced with real crisis they hit for the space under the table.

The fault of the victim was - he asked about the delay of the flight he boarded from Bangkok to Dhaka. The Biman officials assaulted him upon landing at ZIA. They even tried to frame him as a drug carrier. Such incident is not new. But it is very unfortunate that the officials of Biman, our national flag carrier, treat the passengers in such a manner. This is absolutely unthinkable with any other international airlines. Such behaviour will shatter the image of Bangladesh in the international community. We hope the inquiry committee will not only track down the culprits but also punish them for the greater interest of Biman.

Views:India should take this matter seriously and take severe action against the Bangaladesh govt. Imagine what would have happened if some body would have done this to US Marines. USA would have put sanctions against that particular country and all economic and military ties would have been snaped. USA would have created an international atmosphere whereby the offending country would have to suffer damages to its economy. The personal of the 3 services are the most valuable memberes of Indian Society. Care should be taken to protect there life. Action like this by the Government Of India affect their morale. Views:It seems that our politicians have no gut feeling or patriotism left in them, you can't let go such an adventurism by the Bangladeshi's under the name of diplomacy. Especially, I feel that Advani & Vajpayee are oldies and don't have any daring to take a military stand on any of such issues, they should really step down and enjoy a retired life. A young person like me if in the PM's chair would have taken hostage an entire Company of the BDR and would have brutally tortured them to death and would have released a Video film for the whole world to see, so that no one can dare commit such an act. Also I would have launched an air attack on the Bangladeshi's immediately irrespective of the International fall out of the action. I think the GoI should have done this instead of diplomatic manouvers in which they have never suceeded.

Views:To say that India's reaction has been wimpish is an understatement. The present government is a bunch of old dithering, pusillanimous, vacillating incompetents, who have twice within a year, allowed our country to be held ransom by beggar nations that cannot even manufacture toothpaste. First, the Kargil episode, which was a Pyrrhic victory, causing our soldiers to die needlessly. Then, this Bangladesh incident. Perhaps our soldiers always fight with one hand tied behind their back. One wonders what is next in the pipeline: invasion of Kerala by Sri Lankan troop perhaps ? Let us learn from China which has the leadership to bring the strongest military nation in the world to the brink of an apology for just intruding into its airspace. If 16 Chinese soldiers had been brutally tortured to death by Taiwan, the reply would have been swift and certain. Bear baiting Indian patience and the so-called democratic, non-aligned and peace-loving values has gone on far too long. Niceness is being regularly mistaken for weakness. If India does not stand strong and - more importantly - react in kind, there will be a bigger price to pay, to those who sabotage our land from without and within. What's the point of launching ASLV rockets if we cannot protect our soil from a bunch of rabid, marauding villages and bandits masquerading as soldiers ? How many more Indian soldiers must be sacrificed before our neighbours learn not to play with fire ? How much burn are we willing to take ? It's third degree already.

Views:I was shocked to see India's knee jerk reaction to the incident. Compare this to the 16 US soldiers held by China and see the way US handled the crises. There was so much press coverage and debate on the capture of 16 soldiers even though not a single life was lost. As against this we lost 16 soldiers and the governments reaction was far from satisfactory. If our own country does not value our lives how will others respect us? This incident should be pursued at the highest level and political opinion created so that the government takes a firm action against Bangladesh.

Did you take notice what is happening at the border with Bangladesh ? 16 of our soldiers have been caught alive, tortured by pouring boiling water on them, beaten with blunt objects, and finally shot through the eyes to kill them. And alas our Prime Minister, Home Minister and External Affairs Minister as usual keep condemning and expressing anguish. This is traumatic. How can you put the onus on the fact the government of the aggresor was not involved? The blood which flowed was mine not their friendly government's. If we are the big brother in the subcontinent we have to show it. Its so infuriating to see theese jokers playing with the lifes of people.
