Jayantrao Tilak is dead

Veteran Parliamentarian and grandson of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Jayantrao Tilak died in Pune on Monday morning, family sources said.

He was 80.

A journalist and former chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, Jayantrao suddenly collapsed while having tea, they said.

Jayantrao had led the Goa Liberation movement for the Samyukta Maharashtra and also served a three-month jail term during the Maharashtra-Mysore border movement.
