PM asks colleagues not to
call on him after surgery

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Friday asked his Cabinet colleagues and well wishers not to call on him after his knee-operation at the Breach Candy Hospital in Bombay on October 10.

The prime minister made this request during a Cabinet meeting, saying visits of ministers and other VIPs would cause inconvenience to other patients in the hospital.

Home Minister L K Advani wished the prime minister speedy recovery on behalf of all his Cabinet colleagues.

Vajpayee will be undergoing a left knee joint replacement surgery to be performed by New York-based orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Chittaranjan Ranawat and his team.
