Swearing-in of Manipur's ministers postponed

E-Mail this report to a friend

Manipur governor Ved Marwah today postponed the swearing-in ceremony of council of ministers slated for 1045 IST, since he had not received the list of ministers from chief minister-designate W Nipamacha Singh, a Raj Bhavan release said.

The sources did not specify any date for the function.

Singh had told UNI late last evening that he had sought time from the governor to submit the list of ministers to be sworn in on March 2 at 0830 IST.

Invitations were issued by the Raj Bhavan to dignitaries and presspersons who returned disappointed after learning that the programme had been deferred.

The chief minister-designate could not be contacted since he was busy in hectic parleys with his party colleagues and coalition partners.
