Rajendran sworn in as Orissa governor

Former Tamil Nadu chief secretary M M Rajendran was today sworn in as the governor of cyclone-ravaged Orissa.

Orissa high court Chief Justice R K Patra administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rajendran at a simple function in the Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

Rajendran is the 34th governor of Orissa.

Andhra Pradesh Governor C Rangarajan was holding the additional charge of Orissa.

State Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang, his council of ministers, Union Mines and Mineral Minister Naveen Patnaik and senior government officials were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
