Vikas Yadav continues to dodge police

E-Mail this report to a friend

The .22 pistol used by Manu Sharma to kill model Jessica Lal in a crowded restaurant in south Delhi remains untraced even ten days after the crime while co-accused Vikas Yadav, son of Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh D P Yadav, continues to dodge the police.

Police sources said a team has been sent to trace Titu, a friend of Manu Shama, to recover the weapon from him. Manu had allegedly left the weapon with Titu following the crime.

The police have pasted notices under section 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the residence and business establishment of D P Yadav directing Vikas alias Vickky to appear before the investigating agencies at the earliest.

Delhi police teams have already fanned out to several states to nab Vikas who has been absconding since April 30, the day the 34-year-old model was killed. Of the four who were present at Tamarind Court restaurant owned by socialite Bina Ramani at the time of the murder, three are in custody. The police have also arrested Amit Jhingan for trying to tamper with the evidence.
