Badal tells Tohra not to boycott Khalsa celebrations

E-Mail this report to a friend

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today urged Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committe chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra not to boycott the tricentenary celebration of the Khalsa.

Commenting on the fourth day of 'Chardi Kalan Sarbat da Bhala March' from the historic Gurdwara Katalgarh sahib in Chandigarh, Badal, who is also president of the Shiromani Akali Dal said the reported statement of Tohra and his associates was a historic blunder and an affront to the great gurus, the Sikh Sangat and the heritage of the Khalsa.

Tohra, he said, should not allow his personal ambition and prejudices to blind himself to this historic hour and to his responsibility as a humble Sikh. Personal vanity and ambitions must be made subservient to the cause of the community. Tohra should not allow his sense of dejection and frustration to push him into total isolation, he added.
