India yet to get specific date of Aziz's Delhi visit

E-Mail this report to a friend

India has not received any specific date from Pakistan for the visit of its Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz to New Delhi to discuss the Kargil issue, an external affairs ministry spokesman said today.

''We have not received any specific date and time for Aziz's visit,'' he told reporters.

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had yesterday accepted Pakistan's proposal to send its foreign minister to New Delhi. Reports had suggested that Aziz might visit the Indian capital on Wednesday.

The spokesman said India stood by its demand that Flight Lieutenant K Nachiketa, now in Pakistani custody, be returned to New Delhi forthwith.

He said he was not aware if Pakistan had acceded to India's demand that its air attache in Islamabad be allowed access to Nachiketa.
