'No move' to convert LoC into border
The Indian government today denied news reports that it was considering a proposal to convert the 740-kilometre Line of Control with Pakistan into a permanent border.
Describing the report as highly speculative, official sources said in New Delhi that no such proposal is pending before Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The sources said no discussion had taken place in the Cabinet Committee on Security on this issue.
