Your coverage is very informative and according to me the best available on Indian destinations. The detailed coverage including the tariffs of hotels is very, very useful.

I hope you cover all the Indian places. I was surprised not to find Allahabad and Varanasi on your site. I hope these are added soon.

Congratulations for the good work being put in.

Thank you Rediff for bringing to us this most wonderful part of our heritage. It certainly deserves an elevated place in the showcase of world history!

Good job...

ORCHHA has a religious significance for our family. We are "supposed" to have first haircut there...

Thanks for the great article and memories.

Subject: Cabinet expansion

There is no moral ground for further expansion of the Cabinet. The BJP and its allies know it is only a matter of time that they will be thrashed out of office by the electorate for nonperformance. So why not get titles which will serve them well with bungalows and perks for a long time? It is the "collective sucking of Bharat Mata". Give me a break.

Subject: Interview with HJM

The interviewer's question "Aren't the Christians doing good for the people?" is way of the mark. Christian missionaries may be doing good but you do not have to buy someone's soul in the process. If environmental protection is to leave things as they are, who are Christian missionaries to change the Adivasis' way of life.

Subject: Attacks on Christians

Despite being on the opposite side of the VHP's spectrum, I have to agree to Mr Singhal's accusations against Mother Teresa, but not Professor Amartya Sen.

I have heard, in derogatory terms, the nefarious designs of the Mother Teresa clan in Calcutta.

It has been brought to attention, time and again, by me and by other readers that Reverend Patterson of the Christian Broadcasting Network spews venom on Hinduism, sitting in the comfort of the US.

Why don't Rediff produce an investigative report and furnish that to Richard Celeste and his Western lamp holders?

Subject: Pakistan's future

Felt bad to see a country that was once part of India degenerate to this extent. But India is not far behind. Hope our politicians see sense at least after reading this article. India too is heading towards anarchy and sooner or later there is a good chance of a revolution that might turn this country into ashes.

Hey, do you know of any other job where you get rewarded for being a failure?

You don't win a Test abroad in five years and yet you get a hefty increase in pay. What we are saying is, keep goofing off folks, we the fans will, like idiots, continue to support you with undying sycophancy.

Subject: Unwarranted Optimism

Sorry if I may sound a little harsh, but your third day's match report was shocking. You claimed the match could not be more evenly poised at that stage. Well, if a team has a 150 run first inning lead and the other is 3 down in the second essay with a lead of 35, I would not call that even. Moreover, we have the worst tail in international cricket bar none.

Clearly, even on day three NZ had the upper hand. Very few teams win Test matches after conceding a 150 run lead, and even more so with the openers failing in both innings. I grant that being Indians we should echo optimism about our team's chances, but in doing that one must not abandon common sense.

India at this time, is far from being anywhere near a class Test outfit. Our batting order is a complete mess, needless to say that we lack Test quality openers. Our fielding is among the worst in the world. And the bottom line, the most important of all is that our bowling attack lacks bite.

Srinath in my opinion has flattered to deceive all his career. He showed much promise, but has failed to be a wicket-taker. Kumble is probably the only genuine match winner we have. But one bowler cannot win Test matches for us, especially overseas. The less said about the rest of the attack, the better. No surprise then that we have not won a Test outside the subcontinent in 12 years.

Subject: LET'S NOT FORGET THE UMPIRING GOOFS

It is very easy to sing the cliches, "no excuses" and "part and parcel of the game". But, who will speak up about the two horrible decisions that went against India on the last two days? Azhar was given caught off his pads and more important, Chris Cairns was given a reprieve by the local umpire at 140/5.

Why wasn't the 3rd umpire consulted on these decisions?

The feature was excellent; I mean many of your US readers get sick and tired about reading the fantasy Bollywood flicks. So, it's a great change to read about a film like this. However, will it be available in the West...?

Subject: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

The review of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was trashy. Where in the world does V S Srinivasan live? If he thinks he can make a better comedy than the movie, why doesn't he tell us what comedy should be like? Bade Miyan is an excellent entertainer all the way. People come to watch the fun part and Mr Srinivasan should go watch some art movies that only people like him and other armchair critics watch and comment on.

The movie was nice, very light, refreshing, and the new face made it all the more romantic. One could fall in love all over again after seeing this movie...like me.

I went back home and called my fiancee who is away in India ...just to tell her I am glad and proud of the fact that I have her. She is the love of my life.

I think all in all, even though this movie was no Dilwale Dulhaniya or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai... it still was refreshing and beautiful.
