Station manager denies lapse on part of Kathmandu IA

E-Mail this report to a friend

Indian Airlines Kathmandu station manager Lal Chand today denied there was any lapse on the part of IA staffers which might have helped the hijackers board Flight 814.

Earlier, reports had said that four IA staffers had been suspended, arrested and brought to India in this regard.

The passenger list released had one odd entry, 'S A Qazi x 4'.

Agency reports had stated that four boarding passes were released on the name of one passenger. Speaking to Zee Television, he said the four people mentioned included children, but did not reply to a question as to how adults might have boarded the flight instead.

The reports had also asserted that the passengers had moved directly from a nearby Pakistan International Airline aircraft to the IA aircraft without going through security.
