Appeal to be filed in Delhi HC in Mattoo case

An appeal against the acquittal of the accused in the Priyadarshini Mattoo murder case will be filed in the Delhi high court ''at the earliest possible'', Minister of State for Personnel, Training and Pensioners' Welfare Vijayraje Scindia told the Lok Sabha today.

In a suo moto statement, she said the Central Bureau of Investigation director had informed her that after carefully studying the judgement on the case and consulting with legal officers, including the special counsel for the case, he had come to the conclusion that there was sufficient grounds to appeal against the acquittal of the accused, Scindia said.
