Three foreign militants killed in Kashmir

Four militants, three of them foreigners and a special police officer were among the ten people killed while 32 militants belonging to different banned outfits surrendered along with arms and ammunition before director general of police Gurbachan Jagat in the Kashmir Valley during the past 24 hours.

An official spokesperson said security forces killed three foreign militants near the Line of Control in the Machil sector of north Kashmir district of Kupwara last evening.

Three AK 56 rifles, seven magazines, 50 rounds, three grenades, two rocket launchers, one remote control device and three rucksacks were recovered from the slain militants.

An unidentified militant was killed by militants at Brenwar in the central Kashmir district of Badgam last night. One assault rifle with two magazines and two grenades were recovered from the slain militant, the spokesperson added.

Militants abducted a surrendered militant, Abdul Rashid Wani and later killed him at Rakh Maidan in Badgam early this morning, he said.

Militants also shot dead one Mohammad Abdullah Sheikh at Reshipora in Badgam and one other person at Tangmarg area last night.
