Laloo, Mishra to spend another day in custody

The designated special CBI court today reserved its verdict till tomorrow on the regular bail petitions filed by two former chief ministers, Laloo Prasad Yadav and Dr Jagannath Mishra besides six others involved in the multi-crore rupee fodder scam.

Judge S K Lal concluded the hearing of both counsels for the petitioners. The court said the decision would be announced tomorrow.

Following this, the former chief ministers were sent back to judicial custody for the second day in the improvised Bihar military police guest house while the others were sent to Beur central jail.

The case (RC 64 (a)/96) related to fraudulent withdrawal of over Rs 940 million from Deogarh treasury in 1996.
