Verma, Speaker Goel opt out of Delhi assembly poll

Former Delhi chief minister Sahib Singh Verma and assembly speaker Charti Lal Goel have opted out of the November 25 assembly election.

Releasing the party's first list of 50 names, general secretary M Venkaiah Naidu said 27 members of the current legislative assembly had been nominated again while eight had been replaced.

The ministers whose names figure in today's list include Poornima Sethi, Jagdish Mukhi, Harcharan Singh Balli, Devendra Singh, and Dr Harsh Vardhan. The minister whose name did not come up in the list is S P Ratawal.

BJP Yuva Morcha president Vijay Jolly will be contesting from Saket.

No decision was taken about Chief Minister Sushma Swaraj's constituency.
