BJP fields Krishnam Raju from Kakinada

The Bharatiya Janata Party today decided to field film star Krishnam Raju from Kakinada.

The star's name figures in the party's second list of 13 Lok Sabha candidates for Andhra Pradesh, taking the total to 38.

BJP general secretary Venkaiah Naidu said the N T Rama Rao-Telugu Desam Party has been given four seats -- Srikakulam, Parvatipuram, Bhadrachalam and Hanumakonda which was represented in the past by former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao.

The other candidates approved by the BJP central election committee for Andhra Pradesh are: Bobbili -- former MLA V Varada Rama Rao, Narsapur --Parakala Prabhakar, Eluru -- Y Jayalakshmi, Ongole -- K Guravayya Naidu, Rajampet -- Dr A Haranath Reddy, Hindupur -- P Anjani Kumari Reddy, Kurnool -- K Venkataswamy, Nagar Kurnool (scheduled caste) -- Dr S Balu, Miriyalguda -- municipal chairman J Satyanarayana, Siddipet (SC) -- former minister N A Krishna and Khammam -- former minister and tribal leader P Ravindra Nayak.
