20 massacred in Assam

Suspected Bodo militants shot dead at least 20 people and critically injured four at Bathan village in Assam's Kokrajhar district early Saturday.

Official sources said some 30 people were collecting firewood in the Panijani forest, under Gossai Gaon subdivision, when militants fired indiscriminately.

Senior civil and police officials have rushed to the spot with additional forces. A major combing operation is on.
