Hindutva rules, Communism drools

"In the week of takeover of Delhi by Hindutva, it was cheering to hear a defiant Shabana Azmi talk on Ru-Ba-Ru about 'Babri Masjid ki shahadat' (Martyrdom of Babri Masjid). Brave girl. Keep it up." ~ Iqbal Masud in Mid-Day

Please marvel at these Commie-and-Qoumi fundamentalists for the bravado in cocking a snook at the Evil Empire. Like, it's the first time that someone has criticised an element of a government of this country. Like, various Hindu filmstars haven't swum against the "secular" Establishmentarian tsunami... Or is it Masudmiya's ingrained Islamic male chauvinism that makes him have kittens when a Muslim "girl" speaks out...?

The martyrdom of Babri... oh well, it's just a pile of rubble now. And in its place stands a makeshift temple, the Hindu holy grounds of which were martyred to an alien religion by a foreign tyrant. A Muslim oppressor. Excuse me for being unable to stifle my smirk.

Let me reiterate: the kar sevaks were only reacting to the teachings of Gandhiji who had written in the Navjeevan of July 17, 1937, that "Mosques built after destroying temples are the sign of slavery and Muslims should hand over the same to the Hindu society." Masudmiya should realise that not *all* Hindus are servile. When Muslims refuse to heed reasonable requests, every now and then, some of us put them in their minor place.

In India Today, Tavleen Singh accurately gauged the minority mentality. Apropos the absence of major religious riots since after the demolition, she writes: "Far too many Muslims believe that such violence has not been seen even in the Shiv Sena-ruled Maharashtra only because Hindus got scared by the bomb blasts in Mumbai that followed the Ayodhya riots. This is a view which reflects the ancient prejudice... that all Hindus are cowards incapable of really fighting." Excuse me for being unable to check my evil grin.

You know what, if the Imam of Jama Masjid would've said what Shabanabibi and Masudmiya did, I wouldn't have cared. For, the Imam does not profess to be a secularist -- he's honest at least in that regard. However, people like Azmi howl about secularism -- and then go to the US to help collect funds for just the "Muslim Indian" (and not Indian Muslim) community. Not for the needy of all communities -- but just one community.

And as for Masudmiya... well, this "Hindu bitch" (overheard in the newpaper's august environs) is perfectly aware of his hidden green agenda wrapped in pinko secularism. It's quite a neat little "secular" thing they have going in Mid-Day: Mosie owner, Mosie editor, Mosie viewpoint -- and throw in an M V Kamath once a week to even out the six-day anti-Hindutva score and all's well...

Masudmiya's article, titled "Little Impact", is mostly about the alleged corrupt practices of Jayalalitha -- the cases against whom are suddenly being remembered now that she's with the BJP -- and the character of the BJP alliance. Media memory may be "notoriously short" as Masudmiya says, but his own is understandably selective. Especially if you take into consideration his heroes and idols, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Jyoti Basu. Just as anti-Parivaris go on and on ad nauseum about the Babri, I give them a taste of their own repetitive laxative:

Mulayam, who ordered the Intelligence Bureau to release the Islamic terrorists, including a Pakistani, arrested in a raid on a Muslim university in Lucknow. Mulayam, who shielded his cadre in the Rs 320 million ayurveda scam. Mulayam, who's allegedly involved in the murderous attack on Mayawati in May 1995. Mulayam, who himself was once charged with two most heinous crimes in his Etwah days... And that golden calf of all Leftists, Jyoti Basu, of the Rs 22 billion Treasury scam. Basu, who won't disclose his assets in public. Basu, of the Bengal Lamp scandal in which the chief suspect was his son. Basu's, of the Rs 16 billion Waqf property scam. Besides which, fancy India being foisted with a PM belonging to a party that couldn't even poll 3 % of the national vote. Ho hum...

Yeah, sure, Jayalalitha may be our Imelda Marcos -- lekin kis mooh se Masudmiya yeh ta-arruf aur taarif karten hain...?

Sure, we Hindutvawadis are a savage lot. But let's talk about the murders of BJP workers by Naxalites in the backward caste- dominated area of Jharkhand: The Indian Express of March 23 informs us that Vakil Prasad Mahto and Rajendra Prasad Choudhary were killed in broad daylight on March 22. On the same day, Jagtar Singh was shot in Bhurkunda. In July last year, Ravi Das was killed in Gang Pacho village. On August 5, Ambika Bharti was shot dead. On August 19, Bablu Singh was lynched in Chunia village... All BJP workers. All, the handiwork of the Left ultras.

The daily confirms, "At least 60 men of the Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Force, State police and Bihar Military Police have been killed in Naxalite violence between January 1997 and March 1998... Most junior police personnel, havaldars, jawans and sub-inspectors, lacking in manpower, funds and weapons, are a demoralised lot. The offices of the SPs in Naxalite-infested areas are flooded with applications for either leave or transfer."

To top that, in June last year, a powerfully driven campaign was waged by Leftists in Andhra Pradesh to save the lives of two murderers who burnt 23 bus passengers to death in March 1993 and were sentenced to death for their extraordinary mass murder... In AP, as in the US, Leftist front groups usually have only a few active members, but they register numerous groups to create the impression that the Left has massive public support. That's the nature of the obscene beast.

Now let's hear what Masudmiya and Shabanabibi have to say -- with references -- about the number of Leftists killed by the Sangh Parivar... But of course, they're only going to harp on the 6-year- old Bombay riots. For which, we Madhukar Sarpotdar-defenders have the tinderbox of the Radhabai Chawl massacre of Hindus as rebuttal. So puh-lease, spare us that non-issue.

Would readers like to have a [jhalak] of the tradition whence the likes of Shabanabibi and Masudmiya rise? The Deccan Herald of January 17 states: "CPI-M's Harkishan Singh Surjeet on Thursday justified the crushing of the 1989 student uprising in Beijing's Tiananmen Square... To a question whether he agreed with repressions such as the students' revolt against the Communist government in China under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping, the Leftist leader said, 'Yes, if it is supported by imperialist powers'."

A massacre of young college students deemed appropriate... And this lot talks about a derelict structure's "shahadat" by Hindutva... What scumbags...

Mosie-pinkos love harping on the Nazi traits of the Parivar. So let's examine their own commie roots: Reuters (Paris) of November, 7, 1997 says, "Just in time for the 80th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution, a team of French historians has estimated that communism has claimed between 85 and 100 million lives in this century. But, even before their 848-page Black Book of Communism was published this week, the 11 experts split up in bitter dispute over what their gruesome findings meant."

The problem was that the project leader, Stephane Courtois, in the preface, openly branded terror as a central characteristic of communism. The left-wing Paris daily Liberation wrote, "The polemics are all the more regrettable because this book breaks with the strange speechlessness that has stricken most of our historians." (Looks like historians are the same everywhere:) While Le Figaro wrote, "Today, we know about Nazism, gas chambers, the extermination of the Jews, the camps at Auschwitz, the industrial atrocity. So why should we still deny the record of a century of Communism?"

"Communist regimes committed crimes against about 100 million people, against about 25 million for the Nazis," Courtois writes. "The methods introduced by Lenin and perfected by Stalin and their like not only recall the Nazi methods, they often *predate* them."

As we can see, even today, in India, communists practise a similar politics-based genocide...

In any case, now we know why Masudmiya finds the Left-ruled UF "All said and done, they are preferable to the proto fascist." And so this second-rate hack writes a "message" to Prime Minister Vajpayee in his article: "Ibtada-i-ishq hai hansta hai kya / Aage aage dekhiye hota hai kya."

Now Atalji, I'm sure, would have had a perfect retort ready in chaste Hindi, but I doubt if he reads trashy rags. So, on behalf of him, I answer: "Himmat nahi hai jisme dekhe woh aage peechhe / Apni to manzilein hain apne kadam ke neeche."
