Would these actresses be this bold again?

Actresses often go out on a limb when their careers are just starting out. They seem to have no qualms being bold and brazen, passionate and plucky only to do an about-turn when they become established heroines.

Here's a look at some actresses who might not repeat these moments of on-screen passion:

Katrina Kaif in Boom

It was her first film, so no wonder Kaif was okay with pushing the exposure envelope. Clad in hardly anything more than lingerie the entire time, like co-stars Padma Lakshmi and Madhu Sapre, Kaif further had to steam up baddie Gulshan Grover, something she did with considerable ease.

Apparently now we may see a Kaif-Grover smooch that had been removed from the original flop, clearly in an attempt to get more people to watch the new DVD.

Rani Mukerji in Hey Ram

Mukerji's a committed actress with no qualms about on-screen passion, scorching up the screen on many an occasion with many a lucky leading man. However, in Kamal Haasan's unfavourably reviewed film on the life of a man who wants to kill Gandhi, audiences were shocked to see her and the veteran filmmaker-actor sharing kisses.

There is even a moment when the legend bites Rani's derriere. She might be a solid actress, but her discomfort seemed visible here.

Madhuri Dixit in Dayavan

A young Madhuri Dixit and an aging Vinod Khanna got it on pretty hot and raunchy in Dayavan, the young actress visibly overwhelmed by her beefy leading man.

The scene is steamy and both Madhuri and Khanna give it their all, but this early moment remains the most explicit one of Dixit's long screen career. Since then, the actress has saved her sensuality for her songs, her lovemaking scenes suggestive at best.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Dhoom 2

It was a kiss that kicked up quite a furore.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan kissed in Sanjay Gadhvi's Dhoom 2, and the effect on the audiences was electric. Two of the country's prettiest people steaming it up in style? Wow.

But Aishwarya's in-laws the Bachchans were reportedly upset with the scene, and Rai has since apparently backed away from on-screen kisses in an effort not to antagonise Pa Bachchan and husband Abhishek.

Bipasha Basu in Jism

Bipasha's Jism was all about skin, sensuality and smooching, but when she wasn't romancing real life paramour John Abraham on screen, Bipasha ended up making out with "bad man" Gulshan Grover.

Not shot in an aesthetic way, the kisses with Grover seemed gratuitous even in a film celebrating excess. It seems unlikely that Basu, now a much bigger star even going the Hollywood way, will repeat the act with anyone less than an A-lister now.

Soha Ali Khan in Antar Mahal

In this lesser-seen art film by Rituparno Ghosh, Soha Ali Khan ends up spending a lot of hot-n-heavy time with co-star Jackie Shroff. The scenes are interesting, albeit a little disturbing considering Shroff is nowhere near the stud he once used to be.

Since then Soha's kissed Emraan Hashmi in Sirf Tum, but it remains to be seen whether the actress -- rumoured to be getting married soon -- will engage in more on-screen lip-locks after that.
