Vote! The Cutest Kids in the Movies

On Children's Day, we decided to look at the kids in the movies. And we've had quite a few adorable ones, who've managed to put up great performances.

Have a look at some of the kids, and vote for your favourite at the end!

Partho Gupte 

Son of director Amole Gupte and editor Deepa Bhatia, Partho made his debut in his father's film Stanely Ka Dabba. 

The 10 year old won everyone's heart, as well as some international awards.

Darsheel Safary

Darsheel made an adorable kid in Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par. 

Since then, he has acted in films like Bumm Bumm Bole and Zokkomon but they haven't fared well.

The 15-year-old has now bagged his first international project -- Deepa Mehta's Midnight's Children, based on Salman Rushdie's bestselling novel.

Swini Khara

Swini started her career in ad films and television serials in 2005.

She became a household name after her TV serial Baa, Bahu Aur Baby. Later, she got a chance to play Amitabh Bachchan's co-star in Cheeni Kum, where she gave a touching performance.

Swini is 16 years old today.

Shweta Prasad

Shweta played a double role in her debut film, Makdee, and won everyone's heart. Later, she landed a National Award for Iqbal.

At 21, Shweta hopes to work in movies as a lead actress.

Parzan Dastur

One of the best things about Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was the little Sardar, who refused to talk until the very end of the film!

Parzan went on to act in Rahul Dholakia's brilliant film Parzania, about a boy who goes missing during the Gujarat riots.

The 19-year-old was last seen in Imran Khan's film Break Ke Baad.

Jugal Hansraj

Jugal Hansraj was one of the highlights of Shekhar Kapur's Masoom, as his big brown eyes stared sadly back at you.

He went on to do many more films -- as a child and as an adult -- but he will be best known for this 1983 film.

Now 39, Jugal turned director with Yash Raj Films' animated film Roadside Romeo.

Master Mayur

Mayur Verma made his debut in Muqaddar Ka Sikander, where he played Amitabh Bachchan's childhood. He became an overnight sensation, and went on to play Amitabh's junior role in many films like Lawaris and Bemisaal.

Now 47, Mayur is based in the UK, and keeps himself busy directing and producing plays and television serials.

Master Alankar

Alankar Joshi started his career with Bachpan in 1970 -- he was barely two years old then. He acted for 17 years before becoming an IT professional in the US.

Master Raju

Raju Shreshta began his career as a child actor with Shart in 1969 but his claim to fame was Parichay, where he played Jaya Bachchan's kid brother.

Raju was a very popular child artist, and has won a National Award for Chitchor.

When he got older, he played a drug addict in the serial Chunauti. He is 37 years old today.

Junior Mehmood

Junior Mehmood started his career in 1967 with an insignificant role in Naunihal. 

He acted with Mehmood in Suhaag Raat, who gave him the title of Jr Mehmood. The older Mehmood mentored the child in his young acting days.

Some of his memorable films are Kati Patang, Caravan, Haathi Mere Saathi, Aap Ki Kasam, Geet Gaata Chal and Aan Milo Sajna.

Sachin

Sachin Pilgaonkar started his career as a child actor in the Marathi film, Ha Majha Marg Ekla, in 1962.

He has acted in some 65 films as a child, the most memorable one being Brahamchari Safar and Sholay. Later, he played lead roles in films like Geet Gaata Chal, Balika Badhu, Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se, and Nadiya Ke Paar.

Now 54, he has worked in Hindi, Marathi and Bhojpuri cinema. He has acted, produced and directed Marathi films like Mai Baap, Navri Mile Navryala, Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi, Amchyasarkhe Aamich  and Navra Mazha Navsacha.

His popular television serials include Tu Tu Main Main and Kadvee Khatti Meethi. 

Daisy Irani

Daisy Irani was a famous Bollywood and South Indian child artiste in the 1950s and 1960s. She is the sister of writer-director Honey Irani and aunt of Farhan and Zoya Akhtar, and Farah and Sajid Khan.

Her popular movies include Bandish, Jagte Raho, Bhai Bhai, Sahara, Quedi No 911, Duniya Na Mane, Do Ustad, Dhool Ka Phool, Soorat Aur Seerat, Chandi Ki Diwar Naya Daur, Hum Panchi Ek Dal Ke and Musafir,

Daisy is 57 years old today.
