Get your low down on what's happening in the world of Telugu cinema, right here!

Ravi Teja is having a great time. With an uncanny ability to entertain through comedy, the actor has the masses flocking to his movies. And why not when he gives them paisa vasool entertainment.

Ravi Teja also manages to do 2-3 films in a year.

After the hit film Don Seenu, Ravi Teja has signed more films. He's doing Mirapakai with Richa Gangopadhyay (of Leader fame) directed by Harish Shankar which is almost complete.

Veera, another film helmed by Ramesh Varma has been launched recently, where Ravi Teja has three female actors for company -- Kajal Agarwal, Tapsee and Manjari Phadnis. His next project titled Katti is going to be directed by Gunasekhar.

Katti is a stylised action entertainer with Yuvan Shankar Raja composing music for the first time.

Rajamouli experiments

S S Rajamouli is one of the most successful directors with only hits to his credit. His reincarnation saga and action entertainer Magadheera with incredible cinematography by Senthil Kumar and amazing visual effects was a blockbuster. It has also been picking up many awards. The film won two National Awards -- Best special effects (for RC Kamala Kannan) and Best choreographer Shiva Shankar (for the song Dheera Dheera).

At the state level Nandi awards too it won the Best Popular Feature Film Award for providing wholesome entertainment, Best Director Award (Rajamouli), Best Costume Designer Award (Rama Rajamouli), Best Choreographer Award (Shiva Shankar) and Special Jury Award (Ram Charan Tej).

Rajamouli switched genres after Magadheera and made Maryada Ramanna which also did well at the BO. He had comedian Sunil play the hero and Saloni Ashwani the heroine.

Again Rajamouli seems to be in the experimentation mode as his next project is an animation-cum-live action film titled Eega (house fly). Knowing Rajamouli's penchant for a proper script with meticulous detail, we can expect something different and entertaining. Surely that's why he is most popular amongst the audience!

Nikhil Siddhartha, one of the boys from Happy Days has just finished shooting Alasyam Amrutham, a film by Suresh Productions directed by Chandra Mahesh.

He must consider himself lucky to get a project under a big banner (begun by D Rama Naidu, awarded the Dada Saheb Phalke award recently). Nikhil's co-stars in the film are Madalasa Sharma and Arvind Krishna. The story is about how a delay of a train by one hour helped a couple.

The shoot of Alasyam Amrutham was going on in Visakhapatnam with Rama Naidu on the sets ensuring the smooth progress when the announcement of the Dada Saheb Phalke award came.

The film has completed its shoot schedule in Visakhapatnam.
