RARE PIX: Yash Chopra, Over The Years

King Of Romance Yash Chopra passed away on October 21, leaving behind a flood of memories, movies, and magic.

Photographer Pradeep Bandekar takes a trip down memory lane, and shows off rare pictures of the iconic filmmaker with members of the film fraternity.

But we start with a picture of Yashji's wife Pamela, who seemed to be the inspiration for the romance in his films.

Pamela accompanied Yash Chopra at the launch of lyricist Sameer's biography called Safarnama in 2006. Amitabh Bachchan, who was very close to Yashji, was seated next to them.

Sameer, who has worked with Yash Chopra in four films -- Aaina, Yeh Dillagi, Dhoom and Dhoom 2 -- paid his tribute to the filmmaker here.

Dilip Kumar and Yash Chopra were seen having an animated conversation at the success party of Doosra Aadmi (starring Shashi Kapoor, Raakhee, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh and Deven Verma) in 1977.

Perhaps they were discussing a project called Mashaal, which would release later in 1984? Incidentally, The Sound Of Music director Robert Wise visited the sets of Mashaal during its filming.

Lata Mangeshkar was Yash Chopra's favourite singer and sang for all his films except his last, Jab Tak Hain Jaan.
