The inaugural Yash Chopra Memorial Award, founded by industrialist and MP T Subbarami Reddy and Anu and Shashi Ranjan, saw several film industry bigwigs turn up in support.

Singing doyen Lata Mangeshkar was felicitated with the award -- which comes with a prize money of Rs 10 lakh and will be conferred upon one outstanding film personality each year -- at a glitzy ceremony held over the weekend at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.

Anushka Sharma, who starred in Yash Chopra's swan song Jab Tak Hai Jaan last year, looked resplendent in her white outfit.

Chopra's Chandni leading lady Sridevi was accompanied by producer husband Boney Kapoor to the do.

A close friend of the Chopra family, Rani Mukerji -- who we saw in many Yashraj productions including Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Veer Zaara and Ta Ra Rum Pum -- was also present.

Lata Mangeshkar, who turned up to receive her award, said, "I have come here for the memories of Yashji and the special bond that I shared with him.

"I still feel his presence in our lives and feel he is present right here in this august audience watching us all. I was advised by my doctors not to travel and stress myself at the function, but I had to be here for Yash Chopra."

Anil Kapoor, who's received a lot of praise and support for his maiden television venture 24, was all smiles at the do.
