It's all about delivering believable performances in films. And also, keeping up appearances. While we have a lot of actresses who are known to have an impeccable sense of style and elegance, there have been a few who went a step ahead and played fashion forward, sometimes vain, but glamorous characters in films.

So lets have a look at the Bollywood chicas who have replicated their style mantras on screen with success.

Katrina Kaif in Tees Maar Khan

Katrina played a vain and ditzy character in Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan. Anya believes that the key to a great performance is applying plety of makeup.

As an actress, she's more concerned about her appearance than her performance.

We don't know about other lists but this compilation would be incomplete without her. Sonam Kapoor's fourth film Aisha was her home production and seemed more like a guilt-free shopping spree than a chick flick.

The doll flaunted her Diors and her Beetle and also won her man in the end.

Sushmita played ultra-glam Shimmer, a super-successful model in Dulha MIl Gaya who has a jet setting lifestyle and perhaps a whole apartment full of shiny clothes.

So we see Sushmita in a lot of off-shoulder dresses, hats and sexy stillettos in this one.

A certified hottie, Bipasha plays a successful model in the film with ease and flaunts her gym-toned body in plunging necklines, bare midriffs and shorts.

The item number she did in the film was a hit too.

Mallika plays an attractive conwoman in the film and robs rich men along with Rekha (who plays her auunt) by pretending to be in love with them.

Although the film leaves little scope for the actress to flaunt her designer labels, you can sure tell that she's a high-flying, glamorous corporate executive who loves her Choos and a relaxing day at the spa.

In Karan Johar's ode to the parents of the world, Kareena plays a college-going girl whose interests don't go beyond good clothes and good looks.

Needless to say, the character was quite a hit.
