Bollywood pays tribute to Pt Bhimsen Joshi

It came as tragic news to many music lovers when the legendary Pandit Bhimsen Joshi passed away this morning, at Pune's Sahyandri Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was 89.

Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar was amongst the first in the film industry to pay tribute on twitter.

Abhishek Bachchan also offered his condolences: 'very sad to hear the news of the passing of Pandit Bhimsen joshi. RIP'

Riteish Deshmukh tweeted, 'Bharat Ratna in true sense - the greatest Indian classical singer Bhimsen Joshi .Its a big loss to the indian classical & cultural heritage'

Singer Shreya Ghoshal tweeted, 'Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi passes away.. May his soul rest in peace. His voice echoes..'

Neha Dhupia shared a thought: 'Someone said, "Music is what life sounds like." Pandit Bhimsen Joshi's life was legendary. RIP'

Bollywood stars like Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta walked in support of Shabana Azmi's Mijwan Welfare Society on Sunday. Mijwan Felfare Society is an NGO founded by the actress' father, the late Kaifi Azmi, for the empowerment of girl child.

The shooting for Players, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Neil Nitin Mukesh, has begun in New Zealand.

Bipasha Basu informed, 'Off to newzealand to be a PLAYER!Excited to meet the rest of the cast n crew!I know its going to be an awesome schedule! Looking forward to some adventure in Newzealand!Keep u all posted!Love n god bless!'
