A lowdown on what's happening in the Malayalam film industry.

Debutant director R S Vimal's Ennu Ninte Moideen, starring Prithviraj and Parvathy, was scheduled to release this weekend but it has been affected by the strike in the industry. The strike started following issues between film distributors and theatre owners.

The film will now release when the strike is called off.

Ennu Ninte Moideen is based on a real life couple named Moideen and Kanachanamala, whose tragic love story has been known to Malayalis through Vimal's documentary titled Jalam Kondu Murivettaval.

The strike has also affected the release of Jiju Asokan's Urumbukal Urangarilla and Balachandra Menon's Njan Samvidhanam Cheyyum.
