Apurva Agnihotri: I was feeling trapped in the Bigg Boss house

One of the most composed players in Bigg Boss 7, Apurva Agnihotri was evicted from the house on the eve of Diwali.

The actor says Diwali is the right time to make an exit “before everyone starts losing their temper in the house.”

Bigg Boss was a roller coaster ride and I was determined not to lose my temper, no matter what. I didn’t participate with the intention of winning the game, but to experience it," he says.

'I requested everyone to nominate me after Shilpa's eviction'

Apurva’s wife Shilpa was also part of the TV reality show. He seemed to lose interest after she was eliminated a couple of weeks ago.

“I was missing my mom, wife and dog. I was feeling trapped and claustrophobic in the house. I was like a lost child in the house. That was the primary reason I requested everyone to nominate me after Shilpa’s eviction,” he said.

'I don't think Kushal did anything wrong'

Does he regret being part of the show?

“I don’t have any regrets and I have made a friend like Kushal (Tandon) for life. He is the most genuine guy in the house. There are people who have come with some strategy and are acting just for the cameras but Kushal is not like them.”

Kushal’s elimination was unfair, he believes. “I don’t think Kushal did anything wrong. If I was in his place, I would have reacted in the same manner. I am happy that Gauahar is back in the house.”

Although Tanisha pushed Kushal twice and exchanged bitter words, she wasn’t asked to leave the house, unlike Kushal.

“Bigg Boss lays some rules and we have to abide by them whether we like it or not,” Apurva explains.

'I am not easily provoked'

He adds, “Andy is a sweet guy but he crossed the line during a task. He shouldn’t have said such things on national television.”

He was also quite close to Kamya (Panjabi), Pratyusha (Banerjee) and Gauahar and spent most of his time in their company.

“I am not easily provoked. I always made a point when I spoke. Everyone was very sweet to me. Even Armaan (Kohli) never had any issue with me. Tanishaa (Mukherjee) was also nice to me when I was alone after Shilpa got eliminated.”

'I want Kushal, Kamya and Gauahar to be the top three contestants'

He says he will miss the “madness” and looks forward to spending time with all the housemates once the show is over.

He wants Gauahar to win the show. “I am hoping that Kushal gets back to the house. I want Kushal, Kamya and Gauahar to be the top three contestants.”

So what’s next for Apurva?

“Shilpa and I will go for a holiday. I always let her make decisions, like where to go," he signs off.
