'My smile was the biggest reason that my wife got married to me,' Jay Bhanushali tells us.

Actor Jay Bhanushali, who made his big screen debut opposite Surveen Chawla in Hate Story 2 last year, stars in the Sunny Leone-starrer period drama EK Paheli: Leela.

Ahead of the film's April 10 theatrical release, the 30-year-old dropped by Rediff headquarters in Mumbai to chat with his fans and Rediff readers.

While many of his fans, who have followed his career through TV, inquired about his stint on Dance India Dance as a host, many others remarked on his toothy smile.

When reader Alkesha Chandanshiv noted that his smile was similar to Akshay Kumar's Jay replied, 'Thank you so much. I think my smile was the biggest reason that my wife (Mahi Vij) got married to me.'

The actor strikes a pose at the Rediff entrance.

The actor credits Rediff for giving him his first break. In his early modelling days, he had featured in an ad for Rediff Bol. This ad was spotted by the casting team of Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, and he landed the TV soap Kayamath that made him a household name.

He talks about the ad here:

Did you know that the Tere Bin song from Ek Paheli Leela is Jay Bhanushlai's favourite song from the film?

He also advised his fitness enthusiast fans to avoid salt after 6 pm or replace it with lemon if they wanted to lose 2-3 kilos a month. That could come in handy for many of us, wouldn't it?

In his own words, working on Ek Paheli Leela was a 'fantastic' experience.

'I got a chance to shoot in some beautiful palaces in Rajasthan. The only difficult part was when I had a 10-day night shift, I had high fever and had to be admitted to a hospital.'

He is seen here being grilled by Rediff staffer Laxmi Negi about his new film.

About his own process of selecting scripts, Jay said, 'I think like an audience first and then read a script -- it should have a mass appeal plus it should have a meaning too.'

When asked if he had any plans of returning to TV as a host, Jay assured his fans that he loved hosting shows and is more excited to return to it than them.
