
One of the highlights of Rani Mukerji's latest cop installment, Mardaani 3 , is the evil antagonist called 'Amma'.
She's played by Mallika Prasad Sinha with chilling precision.
Before the film hits theatres on January 30, Namrata Thakker finds out who Mallika is.

Born and raised in Bengaluru, Mallika is an award-winning director, seasoned actor, theatre artist, acting coach and a Certified Fitzmaurice Voicework teacher.

A prominent figure in Kannada cinema, Mallika holds a master's degree in performance making from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a postgraduate diploma in acting from the National School of Drama, New Delhi.

She made her acting debut in Kannada movies with the National Award-winning film Kanooru Hegaddithi in 1999 and later starred in Devi Ahilya Bai, Doosra and Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat.

Mallika has also acted in television shows like Guptha Gamini, Megha-Mayoori and Nagakanikke. She also worked as an associate director on the award-winning Kannada series, Garva.

In 2009, she wrote and directed two short films for the Union ministry of culture while producing over 40 educational films on spoken English for school children across India, supported by ISRO/EDUSAT.

In 2021, Mallika's solo digital performance Hidden in Plain Sight won the Infallibles Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Her first short film, For My Ela, was also a hit, winning the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Sundarban International Film Festival and the LA Indie Short Film Festival.

When Mallika isn't performing, directing or teaching, she loves spending time with her cat, likes shooting and climbing mountains.
