R Madhavan will reprise Dulquer Salmaan’s role in the Tamil remake of the Malayalam super hit Charlie, which released last December.

Co-starring Parvathy, the Malayalam film was directed by Martin Prakkat and won eight Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Actor and Actress.

Vijay of Madasapattinam fame has been signed to direct the Tamil version and the project will be bankrolled by Pramodh Films.

The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. The film is expected to go on floor by the end of this year.

Vijay, who is wrapping up the shooting of his trilingual Devi, will complete his next venture with Jayam Ravi before taking up the project.

With three consecutive hits, Darling, Trisha Illana Nayanthara and Pencil, music composer-turned-actor GV Prakash is on a roll.

His latest venture Enakku Innoru Per Irukku will hit the marquee this week and expectations are sky high.

This is his second film with director Sam Anton, who had previously directed him in his debut film Darling.

An action comedy, Ennaku Innoru Peru Irukku is produced by Lyca Productions.

The actor will be seen romancing Anandhi, who shared screen space with him in the film Trisha Illana Nayanthara.

Veteran actress Nirosha, Saravanan, Karunas and VTV Ganesh essay important roles in the film.

Cinematographer Krishnan Vasant has helmed the camera while GV himself has composed the music.

Kamal takes over Sabaash Naidu

Director Rajeev Kumar, who was helming Kamal Haasan’s Sabaash Naidu, has reportedly fallen ill in Los Angeles, where the team has been shooting for the last week.

Sources confirm that the director is down with fever and had to be hospitalised. Since the team is on a tight schedule, Kamal has temporarily taken over the reins to avoid any delay.

The actor recently posted a message on twitter saying that he is directing a dance number. 'I am directing the dance as Rajeev is unwell. Hope he gets well soon,' he tweeted.

The director is expected to be back on the sets in a couple of weeks.

The film revives the character of Balram Naidu, the eccentric RAW agent from Kamal’s Dasavataram.

Shruti Haasan plays Kamal’s daughter in the film.
