Riding high on the massive success of Saiyaara, Ahaan Panday has begun shooting for his second film.

The yet-untitled project was announced by director Ali Abbas Zafar, who shared the film's first look on his X handle with the caption, 'And it begins,' while tagging Yash Raj Films.

The poster features Ahaan in an intense and tense avatar, hinting at a possible action-packed narrative.

This aligns with Zafar's signature filmmaking style, known for delivering high-octane entertainers like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.

No further details about the film's cast and release date were announced though by Zafar or Yash Raj films.

A Blockbuster Debut and Strategic Approach

Ahaan's debut film Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, grossed over Rs 579 crore worldwide -- a feat that has eluded several big-budget star-led films in recent years.

The film also starred Aneet Padda, and the duo quickly became fan favorites across the country.

Interestingly, following the film's release, both Ahaan and Aneet maintained a low profile, with minimal media interactions and limited social media activity.

This appears to be a calculated strategy by Yash Raj Films, which had earlier adopted a similar approach during Saiyaara's promotions by keeping its debutant cast away from the spotlight to build intrigue.

Training and Loyalty to YRF

Coming from a well-known family, Ahaan is the son of businessman Chikki Panday and the nephew of actor Chunky Panday. He is also the cousin of actress Ananya Panday.

Despite his lineage, Ahaan underwent extensive training under Aditya Chopra at Yash Raj Films for over seven years before making his debut.

During this period, he gained behind-the-scenes experience as an assistant director on projects like The Railway Men (2023) and Mardaani 2 (2019), equipping him with a strong understanding of filmmaking.

In an earlier interview, Mohit Suri revealed that Aditya Chopra had advised Ahaan to explore opportunities outside YRF following delays caused by the pandemic.

However, Ahaan chose to remain loyal to the studio, waiting for the right launchpad -- a decision that ultimately paid off with Saiyaara.

With his second film now underway and backed by a powerhouse banner like Yash Raj Films, Ahaan Panday is already being touted as one of the most promising young stars in the industry, with many drawing comparisons to actors like Ranveer Singh who debuted with Yash Raj in Band Baaja Baraat with Anuskha Sharma in 2010.
