Karan tells Tejasswi they need a date night to know each other better before gifting her a pendant.
Day 38 begins with Pratik Sehajpal and Rajiv Adatia getting into a fight after the former remarks how the latter got Ieshaan Sehgaal eliminated. Rajiv asks Pratik to not hit below the belt.
Bigg Boss summons Nishant Bhat, Shamita Shetty and Tejasswi Prakash to the confession room.
They have to name two people who haven't cooked at all in the house. The trio agree on Jay Bhanushali and Vishal Kotian.
Bigg Boss then announces that Jay and Vishal will cook a special dinner for Shamita and Raqesh Bapat who will go on a date night.
While Shamita and Raqesh enjoy their time alone, Karan Kundrra tells Tejasswi that they need a date night to know each other better. Nishant and Jay mimic Shamita-Raqesh and have fun.
At night, Umar Riaz gets annoyed when the housemates decide what to make for breakfast without consulting him. As captain, he feels the contestants should ask him first rather than deciding on their own.
Tejasswi, Umar and Karan chat about Shamita and Neha Bhasin's gluten-free food and how they have stocked so much. The next morning, Nishant and Pratik get into an heated argument with Rajiv as they cook breakfast.
Umar and Vishal discuss the next task and how Jay will turn out to be a selfish captain.
Shamita and Jay indulge in friendly banter to make Raqesh jealous. Afsana creates a ruckus as she doesn't like the food made by Nishant and Rajiv.
Nishant says she can cook her own food. Rajiv gets angry when Nishant and Pratik stop him from using more rations.
They all start yelling and arguing with each other. Shamita steps in and asks Rajiv to go away.
Later, Shamita tells Umar to reassign the kitchen duty. Umar agrees and asks Tejasswi to help Nishant instead of Rajiv.
Karan and Tejasswi share a cute moment as he gifts her a pendant.
In the evening, Bigg Boss announces the VIP task. Only contestants who become VIP members will get a chance to win the show.
Since Umar is the captain, he is tied to all the housemates with a rope. Every time the buzzer goes off, Umar will have to let go two people.
The last three people standing with Umar will become VIP members.
The task begins and Umar asks everyone why he shouldn't eliminate them. Neha, Raqesh, Shamita, Pratik, Nishant, Tejasswi, Karan and others pitch their case to Umar.
In the first round, Umar eliminates Raqesh and Neha saying they have just arrived as wild card entrants and everyone is still getting to know their game.
In the next round, Umar eliminates Rajiv and Shamita. Though Rajiv is a good friend, Umar says his game is weak compared to many others.
As for Shamita, Umar says she doesn't need his support as she already has a support system in the house.
Shamita gracefully accepts his decision and says it's understandable that he wants to take his friends forward in the game.
