Alia Bhatt made stunning pictures as she took the stage at the Berlin International Film Festival, where her latest film Gangubai Kathiawadi was premiered.
Alia was accompanied by the film's director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

IMAGE: At the press conference, Alia said Bhansali was her biggest inspiration during the making of the film.
'I wanted to be directed by him ever since I was nine years old,' she told the audience, referring to his film, Black. 'I did a terrible audition, so I did not get the part.'

IMAGE: She may not have got the Black part, but she certainly got Bhansali's attention. Alia says the audition made him feel she would be a big actress someday.

IMAGE: Bhansali shared an interesting anecdote that when he first narrated the story of Gangubai Kathiwadi to Alia, she ran out of the room! Alia admits she was shocked.
But the next day, she visited him, and the duo 'jumped into the unknown together'.

IMAGE: 'I don't think I'm a good dancer, I think I'm average,' Alia told the media.
Yet, she created such an unforgettable moment in the song Dholida that Bhansali says if any shot could be played when he breathed his last, that would be the one.
Gangubai Kathiawadi will release in theatres on February 25.
