'Akshay was very inquisitive about the actors I shot'
I met Akshay again after two years. I had shifted to Lokhandwala (a Mumbai suburb) and he lived a few buildings away. Since I had just moved there, I did not have a phone yet. I did not have an office in those days either, so I needed someone's telephone where I could get my work-related phone calls. Akshay said he would help me.
He started coming home regularly, and discuss work-related issues. He was very inquisitive and wanted to know about the actors I shot. One day, he asked me whether he could assist me on my photoshoots. He showed interest in photography.
He did not join me officially -- he did it to make contacts and meet actors. I did not pay him anything. He would accompany me to various media houses, even come to G magazine -- where I worked -- to meet me.
