The gorgeous Rekha was born on October 10, 1954. Beginning a long and illustrious career as a child actor, she gradually moved up the ranks and established herself as a leading heroine of her time.
Memorable performances in films like Silsila, Khoon Bhari Maang and Muqaddar ka Sikandar guaranteed her a prominent place in Bollywood history. Rekha's reclusive nature has gone a long way towards building an aura of mystery around her.
When she does surface, however, she manages to look as stunning as ever. We hope to see a lot more of her in the years to come.
October 10, 2004, is also a sad day for fans of Superman. Christopher Reeves, the man who came closest to defining what that superhero ought to look like, passed away nine years after a horse-riding accident that left him paralysed.
