The bad boys of rock ...rock!

Michael Phillip Jagger -- long known to the world as Mick -- was born on July 26, 1943 in England.

After dropping out of the London School of Economics, he formed the Rolling Stones with Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. Famous for a rebellious attitude that marked them as radically different from the cute Beatles ruling the charts, the Stones became the bad boys of rock and stayed that way for the next couple of decades.

Mick would go on to create tracks that have formed the soundtrack to a lot of lives. He would also help tabloids sell a large number of copies with his sexual exploits involving an abnormally large number of beautiful women.

More than four decades after they first played together, the Stones continue to do what they do best -- play good old fashioned rock 'n' roll. If the Martin Scorsese-directed documentary concert Shine A Light -- released earlier this year -- is anything to go by, they haven't lost their spark yet. Long may they rock on.
