Can't get enough of television? Grab your weekly gossip from the industry right here.

The leading lady of Annu Ki Ho Gayi Wah Bhai Wah, Srijita De, is flying high these days with her telly show doing well. Interestingly, the Bengali actress, who was first seen on Kasauti Zindagi Kay, will now share screen space with Akshay Kumar [Images] in Tashan. Finding it difficult to believe? Read on to know what happened.

"One day I went to the Balaji office to collect my cheque," Srijita tells us. "Since the Yash Raj office is situated in the same lane, I handed over my portfolio to the gateman of YRF."

Within a few days, to Srijita's surprise, she got a call from the Yash Raj Films office.

"They were calling me for an audition. I passed the test and was selected for a role that had few scenes with Akshay Kumar. I play a village girl," Sreejita smiles. "I had a wonderful time with the unit of Yash Raj Films, and it was a big learning experience for me. My ultimate dream is to make a mark in the glamour industry."

Did you know actor Mohit Malik, who stars in Star One's new show Pari Hoon Main, is a restaurateur as well? For the last four years, he has been successfully running a restaurant in Delhi called MB.

Ask him and he says, "We have a joint family and since I am away from Delhi most of the time, someone or the other from my family is taking care of the restaurant. We have plans of opening another branch soon."

Did he take care of his restaurant when he took a four-month break after Durgeshnandini went off air? "Actually, I just chilled out during the break. I learnt dance and waited for the right role to come which I got in the form of Rajveer Kapoor in Pari Hoon Main. I play the son of a producer who is a very focused and nice person," says Mohit.

Talking about breaks, Amit Verma, currently in Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, has taken time off from the small screen. And the reason is something very common amongst telestars -- to try and get a foothold in the movies.

Amit will be seen in Aziz Mirza's forthcoming movie Kismet Connection, starring Shahid Kapoor [Images] and Vidya Balan [Images]. Amit also went to Canada [Images] with the unit for the film's shoot.

"Shahid and Vidya are very humble people to work with and I played a significant role in the movie. Just wait and watch!" he tells us.
