In 1982, Gulzar took Shakespeare's A Comedy Of Errors and -- ably aided by the sublime comic pairing of Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma -- turned it into one of the finest comedies in Hindi cinema history. There are two pairs of man and manservant, and much fantastically scripted dialogue expressing confusion of a romance-and-necklaces variety.
