When Shah Rukh kissed Anushka

After a great debut performance in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Shah Rukh Khan introduced Anushka Sharma to the media. This is the 20-year old's first public appearance after she shifted from modelling to a film career.

SRK was charming, as he joked with his leading lady, and landed the rare kiss on her cheek.

"The acting bug has bitten. I'm in love with acting and will continue," Anushka said, smiling.

Anushka, whose father is an army officer, started modelling at the age of 15. The Bangalore-based girl then moved to Mumbai for better career prospects.

So why was she such a secret before the film's release? "The idea was not to keep her a secret," SRK replied. "We wanted her work to speak for her. When new actors come into films, it is important for people to see their work and then question them. It becomes easier after the film releases."

Working with King Khan must have been a dream come true. Anushka agrees, saying, "I was very nervous and excited when I met Shah Rukh on the first of the shoot. But Shah Rukh Khan is Shah Rukh Khan -- he is full of charm, and he charmed me. On the first day, he was in Suri's look and for five seconds, I couldn't recognise him. He walked up to me, congratulated me and that's when I realised it was him."

But the event couldn't be complete without a mention of Aamir Khan, whose new film Ghajini is the talk of the town. "Aamir is a very close friend," SRK said. "I can joke with Aamir because he is intelligent and now has a sense of humour that he lacked a few years ago. He used to be very serious so I could joke with him only in private. Now I'm glad I can pull his leg in public! Honestly, I hope and pray his Ghajini does well. It has shaped well from what I can see in the promos."
